STUDYING FOR THE NCLEX

n Don ’ t try to learn all new things , instead take what you do know and review .
n Do lots and lots of practice questions and always review the rationales .
n Watch nursing lecture videos on content you are still having a hard time understanding .
n Do not wait until the last minute to start studying -- I suggest 2-4 weeks in advance .

LIFELONG LEARNING

n Commit to lifelong learning so that you can provide the best possible care to your patients .
n Stay up to date on evidence-based practice .
n Do not be afraid of change but be willing to adapt and learn .
n Be willing to learn new things each day whether that be updating the plan of care for a particular diagnosis or learning how to use new equipment .

INTERVIEW TIPS n Bring your resume with you to interviews and a business card if you have one . Always dress professionally .

n Be mindful of your body language throughout . Make sure you don ’ t fidget , slump in your chair , or cross your arms . Instead , make sure to smile and sit up straight with an inviting appearance .
n Always be yourself and be genuine to who you are . n Practice interview questions beforehand . n Use stories to illustrate your answers .
