RESOLUTIONS
Meet the NSNA Resolutions Committee
Emily Wong , Chair University of Portland School of Nursing and Health Innovations Portland , OR
Greetings NSNA members ! I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity to serve as your Resolutions Committee Chair for the 2023-2024 year . I have had an enriching experience at The University of Portland School of Nursing and Health Innovations in Portland , OR , where I am currently a senior and expect to graduate in May 2024 . After graduation , I hope to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist or work in pediatric surgery .
For the past two years , I have had the privilege of serving as the President and Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Student Nurses Association ( OSNA ). I will be forever grateful for the opportunities and valuable knowledge that I have received from OSNA and will be using my knowledge and experience to create change for every NSNA member . As this will be my first position serving NSNA , I am excited to build upon what I have learned from OSNA and contribute what I have to offer for this position .
My goal for this year is simply to fortify the voice and influence of you , our NSNA members and future nursing professionals , and move together towards a better tomorrow . Recognizing that our association stands at the nexus between nursing education and real-world practice , I want to aim to become a catalyst for change in policies and the nursing profession . This will involve collaboration within the Resolutions Committee , NSNA Board of Directors , staff , members , and friends of the organization to ensure that all resolutions passed will push us towards that goal : advocating for change and unity in our voices . I will ensure that these resolutions are not just symbolic but lead to tangible outcomes . I envision empowering all nursing students and NSNA members and staff so that everyone has a voice and that we all play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nursing .

Wishing everyone the best year filled with lifelong learning , joy , and rest and as someone dear to me would say , “ Don ’ t let your dreams be dreams .” Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Annual Convention in Orlando , FL !

At the 2023 NSNA Convention , during the House of Delegates , I realized that I am a true parliamentarian at heart . I am excited to take on this role and further develop my skills and love for this process while helping all of you do the same . I look forward to seeing your resolutions and helping you bring them to the forefront of advocacy . I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with all of you and hope to see your resolutions bring about positive changes in our ever-evolving world !
