I ’ m also on the board of my local SNA chapter .
My goal for being in the NEC is simple , I would love to see people who are passionate , committed and possess the will to be on the board or in the NEC for the next year . It would be my pleasure to help them on their journey from the time they ask for information about the Board to the Annual convention . I am honored to be working with the other NEC representatives to make this happen .
I really look forward to working with my fellow NEC Representatives , and everyone who has an interest for the board and the NEC . I hope you all join us for the NSNA Virtual MidYear Conference . I hope everyone stays healthy and safe out there in these worrisome times .

Hello fellow NSNA members ! I am both honored and humbled to serve as your 2020-2021 NEC Eastern Election Area Representative . With the Annual Convention in Orlando being cancelled this year , I did not have the pleasure of meeting so many of you . With that being said , I am very much looking forward to meeting and chatting with many of you at the MidYear Conference !
I am currently in my fourth of five years in Drexel University ’ s co-op program . I have had the honor of completing my first co-op experience in the Oncology unit at the Children ’ s Hospital of Philadelphia , where I worked with the patient and family educator . For my second co-op , I worked for three months in the Pulmonary / Complex Care unit and for three months in the Pediatric ICU . I will be working at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on a vascular surgery unit for my third and final co-op .
I knew that I wanted to be a nurse the first day I volunteered at a local hospital and had a really positive experience . I have always had a passion for helping others and respect for those in the health profession .
While I am a part of the NEC , there are a few goals that will be my top priority . First and foremost , I want to help motivate future nurses who want to take on a leadership position to serve on the National Board of Directors and NEC . To fill the slate with the most wellsuited candidates , I will be proactive in reaching out to both state and school chapters within my region .
I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you . Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have . Sending lots of luck to you throughout your studies ! n

Greetings from the 2020-2021 Imprint Reporters !

Kylie Begin Up Close Reporter Florida State University Tallahassee , FL nsna @ nsna . org , Attn : Happenings
Hello everyone ! I am very excited and honored to be the Imprint Happenings Reporter ! I am a senior nursing student at Florida State University in Tallahassee , FL . I am currently serving as the Region 1 Director of the Florida Nursing Students Association ( FNSA ) executive board .
I was inspired to become a nurse when I was very young by the midwives that took care of my mother while she delivered my youngest siblings . I found the whole experience fascinating and realized just how often nurses get to be present in some of the most personal life experiences of those they take care of . Since then I have continued my education in maternal health through research on the perceptions of sexual and reproductive health abroad , as well as helping to found Seminole Nursing Students for Sexual and Reproductive Health ( NSSRH ) at Florida State University .
As the Happenings Reporter , I hope to display all of the wonderful and inspiring projects that nursing schools across the country are doing within their communities . If your school chapter or state association has any community events or conventions coming up , or recently completed , please email me at nsna @ nsna . org attn : Happenings . I look forward to featuring your activities in Imprint !
Jessica Turnitiza Up Close Reporter Wilkes University Passan School of Nursing Wilkes Barre , PA nsna @ nsna . org , Attn : Up Close
Hi , superheroes in scrubs ! I am excited to serve as your new Imprint Up Close Reporter . I am a rising junior in the nursing program at Wilkes University , in Wilkes Barre , PA . I am currently the president of Wilkes University Nursing Student Organization , and have served as a freshman nursing E-Mentor , AF-ROTC cadet , and as the Chair of Community Service on the Wilkes University Student Athletic Advisory Committee .
I believe my reason for entering the world of nursing stems back to my mother . My mom has been a nurse for over 35 years , working in oncology and school nursing . However , I recognized her overall character and sincerity outside of the hospital walls . When my grandfather started to decline from Alzheimer ’ s , my mom gracefully juggled her time with her three children at home , patients at the hospital , and every possible moment with my Dzia-Dzia at his bedside . I yearn to be the kind of nurse that my mother has relentlessly shown me — eager to learn and care .
As your Up-Close Reporter , my goal is to capture your own diversifying adventures and challenges . I look forward to highlighting outstanding NSNA members . If you would like to nominate a member , please email me at nsna @ nsna . org attn : Up Close to be featured ! n
