n Russia, NGP – or new generation products – are
representedby two categories: electronic vapour products
(EVP) and heated tobacco products (HTP). Vaping is an
alternative to traditional smoking that reduces health risks
through putting down the use of tobacco. Since e-liquid used
in EVPs does not contain any tobacco, the vaping technology
totally excludes the burning and heating of tobacco.
In the last three years, all major tobacco companies have presented
their NGPs: in 2015, Philip Morris International marketed IQOS,
a tobacco heating device. Following its example, British American
Tobacco launched a similar product – Glo, in 2017. Also in 2017,
Japan Tobacco International marketed its electronic vapour product,
Logic Pro. In 2018, Imperial Brands launched myblu. In addition
myblu is an innovative nicotine delivery device that does not contain
any tobacco. It’s an electronic vapour product and represents the latest
generation of closed system e-vapour with liquid capsules (pods).
