#Factory In May 2017, our factory was visited by Walter Prinz, Global Head of MSRD Imperial Brands and Nikolai Penner, Head of MSRD in the Eastern European Region. The guests were keen on learning about the process of implementing the Lean program at the factory and operational performance, assessing the potential production capacity of the plant and communicating with the factory's personnel. During the visit, Walter Prinz met with the employees in all divisions at the factory and answered any questions they raised. In June Richard Hill – Human Resources Manager at Imperial Brands, Rainer Eberlein – Planning and Supply Manager at Imperial Brands, Oliver Kutz – General Manager, Russia & Central Asia, Galina Ptashkina – Human Resources Manager, Russia & Central Asia have visited the factory. The guests also highly appreciated the level of development of Lean culture at the factory and highlighted the importance of the results achieved by the Group. All guests in 2017 are invited to take part in a celebratory event – planting a small garden with named trees! a problem may be, and how unconventional the solutions to the problem can. The system was recently altered and is now points-based, with proposals being reviewed more frequently, each initiator being given clear feedback and the number of points earned entitling each initiator to a prize. A range of lean tools are in place at the factory so that each employee can develop and grow in areas that they are most interested in. The direct involvement of personnel in the operation of the factory is the key to the successful development of the Lean Culture in the plant. Alibek Melis, Production Manager: "My goal is to maintain and develop production at some of the highest levels in the company. I want personnel from other factories to come to us to gain experience." Aleksey Fayev, Cigarette Workshop, Operator and Adjuster: "I like our improvement proposal system because it is exciting to think of a solution to a challenging problem, whether it is losses or technical malfunctions. We often discuss different situations with our colleagues, sometimes a Dmitry Budkov, Cigarette Workshop, Operator and Adjuster: "I like the improvement proposal system because I know that my proposal will be utilized to make a change for the better. You have to deal with problems at work. Normally the solution is clear, except when developing technical modifications or additions. I get objective feedback from the management and upon review and approval I'm in a position to implement my concept by myself. Following the implementation I can see that projects I have developed are operational and useful. That is what makes me happy. I lead by example and try to get my colleagues to formulate new improvement proposals, and I help them find the right solution as those proposals are put together." Alexander Rozhkov, Tobacco Workshop, Automated Flow Line Operator: "I have to be responsive to problems at all times, as I am a member of the Kaizen team, the leader of the Loss Hunters' team. So those losses 'inspire' me to write proposals to eliminate them. Sometimes it might be that the idea is only under review, but my guys and I have already put it into action. I can see the changes and results of implementation generated by our proposals. And the most important thing is teamwork, concerted efforts in searching for and implementing a solution. No man is an island." solution is available straight away, sometimes it takes more time, but in any case the problem-solving process itself is engaging." Vladislav Bashmakov, Cigarette Workshop, Operator and Adjuster: "We are improving on an ongoing basis: the work environment is getting better, as is equipment performance. All of this is possible thanks to the input from each of us. By submitting a proposal to alter or simplify production processes, I have an opportunity to realize my potential, it’s extremely encouraging that my ideas do not go unnoticed, and I get feedback at all times." IN SEPTEMBER 2017, OUR FACTORY IS CELEBRATING ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY. WE CONGRATULATE OUR COLLEAGUES AND WITH THEM MANY MORE YEARS OF CONSISTENT DEVELOPMENT AND EFFICIENT LEAN OPERATIONS AHEAD.
