INCREASING ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION ESPECIALLY FOR GIRLS
From 2022 to 2023 , the number of children receiving educational support from CAI grew by 35 %— bringing the total to 14,085 students . Thanks to you , we also made important investments in school infrastructure through renovations and construction and the provision of learning materials , books , school supplies , computers , furniture , and warm winter clothing .
Rana is one of the thousands of students who would not have been able to attend school at all without CAI and the many donors who fund our work . In her words , “ I have learned a lot of good things . And now I can read and write !”

EMPOWERING WOMEN WITH JOB SKILLS AND TRAINING
While women in Central Asia work as hard as men , they often go unpaid . In Tajikistan , CAI ’ s entrepreneurship program supports women to transform their skills and passions into small businesses . In Pakistan , our women ’ s apricot processing cooperative and other livelihood programs help women earn income while creating opportunities for their communities .
4,314 WOMEN participated in livelihood training activities covering topics from entrepreneurship to IT , business skills , financial literacy , and more .
IN PAKISTAN , 52 women were supported to form local cooperatives for processing apricots and other fruits . Early results show the average increase in household income per female participant was 180 %.
