THE PEACEKEEPER
Haggai Institute training is being put to use in the
troubled region of Darfur.
Since the 1980s, conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan
has created a humanitarian crisis, claiming 480,000
lives and creating 2.8 million refugees.
Servilien Nitunga left his International Training
Session with goals to reach 15,000 people with the
Good News and to train more than 1,500 Christians –
in two years.
A Burundian serving as a planning officer for the
peacekeeping mission in Darfur-Sudan, he is also a
pastor and the chairperson of the Christian Police
Association of Burundi.
He reports, “My church leadership has recommended
that I plan a training program to share with all church
members the different skills and topics they judged as
important, in order to have an impact in Darfur. They
appreciated the training course and thanked God for
answering their prayers by availing tools appropriate
to bring the Gospel to Darfur.”
