His ministry has taken him to
four continents, and he serves
regularly as a senior faculty
member of Haggai Institute.
Among his books are The
Cross and the Bo Tree, The
Comprehensive Concordance
to the Sinhala Bible, and The
Complete Cell Manual. His
book, Motivate!, was written
during his time as Scholar-inResidence at the Mid-Pacific
Center.
For nearly a decade, Tissa has
also hosted Hope for Today, a
nationwide weekly Christian
television program that also airs
on European satellite TV.
For Tissa Weerasingha, evangelism means a passion to share your faith
“all the time, on a casual basis, with everyone you come in contact with.”
Tissa’s relationship with Haggai
Institute began in 1975 – the
same year he started his
ministry at Calvary Church,
Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he
now serves as senior pastor.
Under his leadership, the
congregation has directly and
indirectly sponsored nearly
100 churches, both inside and

outside Sri Lanka. Their new
auditorium seats 5,000.
Tissa is also the founder
and president of Calvary
International Ministries Inc.,
founder and principal of
Calvary Theological Seminary,
and editor of the Lanka Journal
of Theology.
He received a B.Th. from
