Melody Lee , Correctional Officer II
Officer Lee began her career in 1989 at Ware State Prison ( SP ) and has been a valued and dedicated employee for 32 years .
In 2004 , as Bacon PDC / TC was working toward opening , Officer Lee transferred as the Tool Control Officer . Her tasks included ensuring that all tools were numbered and inventoried and that shadow boards for all tools were in each area . She also served as the backup supervisor for the Backgate Sergeant , making sure that all outside grounds were kept to the highest standards . Officer Lee worked long days and nights to prepare Bacon PDC / TC to receive their first offenders . In 2013 , when a position became available in the Bacon PDC Laundry / ID area , she once again stepped up , meeting the new challenge head-on . True-to-form , this has been what she has given since day one , the best of herself to make sure that the mission is upheld . She has always been dependable , hardworking , and quick to take care of anything that needs attention or repair .
For 32 years , Officer Lee has shown up with a “ can-do attitude ” and a willingness to do whatever anyone asked of her . As she may one day soon look toward retirement , she will surely be a tremendous loss to the facility and our department . Her hard work and dedication at Bacon PDC / TC and GDC are greatly appreciated .
