Mantracker Training

The Georgia Department of Corrections ( GDC ), Canine Unit is responsible for enhancing public safety throughout the State of Georgia by providing prompt and effective canine support for the GDC , public schools , and local , state , and federal law enforcement agencies . In April 2021 , the GDC Canine Unit came together with law enforcement officers throughout the state at the Mantracker Public Safety Training Conference . Mantracker was initially developed by the GDC and is now hosted by the Coweta County Sheriff ’ s Office and teaches officers how to handle canines , conduct searches , and track scents properly . This unique training opportunity allowed officers to train side-by-side with various local and state agencies . The variety of training simulations that Mantracker offers helps the agency create a safer Georgia .
