Meet Author Dwayne Thomas
Dwayne Thomas is a native of New Orleans,
Louisiana and currently resides in Katy, Texas.
Married for twenty four (24) years to his lovely
wife Marlene Thomas, he is the very proud father
of a seventeen (17) year old daughter Kristian and
a thirteen (13) year old son Dwayne Thomas Jr.
They worship at New Light Christian Center in
Texas. ‘’It is my hope that those who read my
writings are motivated to get involved in how they
can make change in their communities.’’ He gives
back by volunteering with After School Programs
and volunteering as a Sigma Beta Club Mentor.

Understood". He is a proud product of the Orleans Parish Public School System.

In 1992 he

received a Bachelor’s Degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in Sociology with a Minor in
Analytical Research. He went on to obtain a Master’s of Science degree (MSM) in Management and
a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Public Health from Troy State
University. Mr. Thomas is a certified in the state of Texas in Special Education.He began his
professional career in 1992 working for several community-based non-profit organizations including
owning and operating his own business (Abundant Life Care Services, Inc.) an organization that
received local and state recognition for its work with persons with disabilities.
Mr. Thomas has committed over two (2) decades of his life working in both the social service and
education arenas. Past administrative experience includes: Director of Health Education, Rehab
Clinician, Director of Therapeutic Services, Coordinator of Educational Services, Case Management
Director, Day Habilitation Director and Executive Director.
