Brenda’s father, Jack Leroy ‘Jackie’ Wilson, also called Sonny was the most influential entertainer Vegas

his generation. Wilson was popular in the 1950s and 1960s with his influence spanning through time,
mpacting great entertainers like Michael Jackson. He successful impacted the genres of R&B, Soul,
Pop and Rock & Roll. He was the full package and earned the name, Mr. Excitement.

Wilson had the formula to chart in the top 10 on both Billboard R&B and Pop charts simultaneously, considered to be a very rare
achievement by music industry experts. After going solo in 1957, he recorded 50 HIT SINGLES out of which 16 of the singles were
R&B Top 10 hits while 6 were #1 R&B hits.

Wilson’s first #1 R&B hit came one year after going solo. It was Lonely Tear Drop, December 1958. He received the Grammy Hall
of Fame Award twice and in 1987 was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Jackie Wilson expired January 21, 1984. This year, family and friends join Brenda in celebrations of his 81st birthday, June 9th.
