What if I Tested Positive for Tuberculosis or Syphilis in
the Past?
First of all, be sure to bring a certificate from your doctor if
you’ve ever tested positive for tuberculosis or syphilis so
that the USCIS doctor can understand your case fully. The
report should outline what treatment you underwent, and
how long the treatment was. If you had a positive test but
were not treated, bring a note signed by your doctor
explaining why.
In the case of an anomalous chest x-ray, check with your
doctor to get your last films and bring them to your
immigration physical exam appointment.
