my opinion, it’s important to talk to others who gone through cancer. You’ll have questions others simply won’t be able to answer; and you’ll have a lot of questions. Seek out other fighters. Attitude is everything, so keep yours positive. Hopefully you’ll have great doctors, but if you don’t, consider finding others. Take someone with you to your doctor’s appointments. I know that much of what my surgeon first said to me was drown out by a sort of white noise that descended upon me when she said the word “cancer”. And finally, laugh! Laugh at the manager at work who looks at your bald head and ask “what’s up with your hair?” Laugh at yourself for forcing yourself to listen to Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful to see how far into the song you can get without crying. Laugh when you find out that your head is sweating due to chemo induced hot flashes, and not because your head was always that sweaty and you never noticed it because you had hair. And finally, laugh because you’re going to kick breast cancer’s ass.
