There is nothing quite so tantalizing, so ooey, gooey, so
rich, seductive and sensuous as chocolate. I remember as a
child going to the grocery store and being told could have
one piece of candy from the candy display. Was there ever a
question in my mind as to what I could get? Did I want the
sugar wafers, the gummies, the fruit flavored squares? Oh
no, I looked for the chocolate. Chocolate nabs, chocolate
squares, chocolate balls, chocolate bars—it did not matter to
me what form it was in, I went for the brown, creamy, sweet
stuff.
I remember selling the world’s finest chocolate for school
in the spring time. It was a dangerous thing to give 2 boxes
of chocolate bars to a chocolate loving youth at a dollar a
pop. I remember eating up the profits, one bar turned into
three and before I knew it, I was half way through a case.
They may not have been the world’s finest, but to me they
were pretty dang good.
