Yuri!!! On Ice
One of MAPPA studio's newest releases, Yuri On Ice has been one of the most poular anime this season. The series stars Yuri Katsuki, a professional figure skater, try to regain his confidence and inspiration after an unsuccessful previous season.Surprisingly, he is this time coached by Victor Nikiforov, number one single men's figure skater in the world, who has his own struggles as well. Together they face various opponents in several competitions, learning something new about themselves each time, as wells as growing closer in their relationship.The animation is stunning, with a vibrant color scheme and beautifully potrays each perfomance, matching the music the explains the emotions behind them. The composition has both pieces that are stunning and mediocre, most famous the opening History Maker, and the track Eros The voice actiong is done well,, even though there is nothing particularly special about the subbed performances., The dubcast by Funimation is done just as well, but Jerry Jewell's potrayal as Victor is surpringly lamentable, considering his outstanding performance in other roles, such as Russia from Hatia and Lyon Bastia from Fairy Tail.
Yuri On Ice is available on both Crunchyroll. and Funimation, which provides both subbed and dubbed versions.The plot is decent enough, but the characters are what really sell the story, each unique personalities, causing both conflict and compliment. Although the anime is still ongoing,, I (along withs the show's thousands of fans) eagerly await the episodes to come.
