ABOUT THE PROJECT

The main idea of the project was to get our youngest students interested in the basic concepts of science through hands-on activities such as simp experiments. During six months we collaborated with other Europen preschools from Lithuania, Romania, Greece, Estonia and Poland sharing our experience and new ideas. During this time our students participated in experiments with water, ice, colours, soda and vinegar. At the end of the project we organized a Science Fair at our school to share the outcomes of this project with others.

FLOAT OR SINK ?

We prepared a container with water and collected different object in our playground (leaves, nuts, stones, balls, pieces of wood). Then one by one we checked whether each object would float or sink.

WALKING WATER

We put glasses in a row - one with water, one empty, one with water and so on. We joined them with a napkin ''bridge'' and we waited ... After few hours the water ''walked'' from full to empty glasses at the same time mixing colours. new ones.

BUZZING COLOURS

We created a colourful abstract picture by mixing soda with vinegar. To do this experiment we needed a box with baking powder and cups with vinegar ( we gave it different colours simply by using water colour paints). We learnt that soda and vinegar together create carbon dioxide gas, that made bubbles in our picture.
