MINE LIGHTING
can thus set the work lighting to suit the ambient conditions . In contrast to wireless technologies such as Bluetooth , communication with the work lamp is also thanks to PLC .
The RokLUME 280N SMART is available in six different illumination variants : with long-range , close-range , pencil beam , diffuse flood , tunnel flood or ZEROGLARE illumination . The work lamp is also equipped with a lifetime warning . This means that the system warns in good time before the service life of the work lamp expires , thus preventing unplanned downtime . Anti-theft protection is also integrated . If this feature is activated , the work lamp will not work on other machines .
A user of the new lamp in mining is the VA Erzberg iron ore mine in Austria , where Florian Wabra , Deputy Head of Department Technical Maintenance Mining Machines stated : “ A new generation of work lamps have significantly increased productivity through improved illumination , which also leads to more efficient work processes . At the same time , optimal lighting ensures increased safety as all areas are clearly visible and potential dangers can be identified early .”
Coolon attends MINExpo 2024 with ecosystem partners
Australia ’ s Coolon was also at MINExpo in Las Vegas introducing attendees to its award-winning Brilliant Connected Lights , a revolutionary range of lights that enable effortless digitisation and deployment of the latest IoT services on any mining or industrial site .
It states : “ Mine sites invest in digital transformation in pursuit of cost reductions , productivity gains and safety improvement . The main aim of site digitisation is to link every piece of equipment , plant infrastructure and personnel together , forming a giant digital model that is fully transparent and can be used to accurately assess and predict operational disruptions in real-time ; keeping people safe and plant operating efficiently at the top of its productive output . As Uber relies on the proliferation of smartphones and mobile data , in order for mine sites to take advantage of innovative IoT technologies , there must be a robust digital network over which these technologies operate . However , while the digitisation of industrial processing plants is worthwhile , it is extremely challenging to achieve due to the complex and hazardous environment . Running cables and setting up Wi-Fi coverage is challenging , costly , and disruptive to operations , while radio signal propagation is often impossible due to the presence of massive steel and concrete infrastructures , as well as constant electromagnetic noise from various types of equipment . That ’ s why Coolon Brilliant
Connected Lights come fitted with smart wireless mesh networking nodes inside . “
Coolon smart lights contain nodes inside the fittings , which enables almost ‘ plug-and-play ' capability , offering immediate and effortless digitisation for mining and industrial sites , regardless of the size or complexity of the infrastructure . Once installed , the lights can automatically create a wireless mesh network that covers the whole site , solving connectivity challenges : one node only needs to service a limited area around itself and pass the data onto its neighbour for re-transmission .
To highlight the unique IoT attributes of Brilliant Connected Lights , Coolon attended the show with a number of its ecosystem partners . These included Ellenex , who are leaders in wireless fluid monitoring ; ELA Innovation , which has revolutionised how mining operations measure , optimise , and secure valuable resources through advanced data collection technology ; and M3SH Technology , which specialises in end-to-end health and safety sensor solutions leveraging the power of cloud computing and IoT to create safer , more efficient mining operations . Also present were Bornemann AG , a leading European IoT solution provider , which offers precise and affordable asset tracking for mining . Its industrial-grade tags and
