The Reutech Mining Geotechnical Monitoring Centre( GMC) adds expert geotechnical support, providing continuous remote monitoring and helping operations respond to warnings, alarms and slope deformation risks.“ The GMC also helps lighten the workload of onsite geotechnical teams. By providing continuous expert oversight of radar data, warnings and alarms, it allows mine personnel to focus on their other critical geotechnical and operational responsibilities while maintaining confidence that the monitored slope continues to receive attention.”
Behind these capabilities is the operations, support and logistics infrastructure required to ensure that the complete solution continues to perform as intended.“ This includes remote diagnostics, technical and geotechnical support, maintenance, software upgrades, access to spares, factory-certified technicians and an international logistics and distributor network. A monitoring solution can only provide reliable information when it remains operational, correctly maintained and properly supported. Operations, support and logistics are therefore not separate from the solution. The launch of the MSR Halo™ in 2025 marked an important milestone for Reutech Mining. The MSR Halo™ introduced Synthetic Aperture Radar technology to the Reutech Mining slope stability portfolio, offering a complete 360 ° scan envelope, a monitoring range of up to 5,000 m and sub-millimetre accuracy.
At launch, the MSR Halo™ was available as a portable tripodmounted system using an external power supply, as well as for fixed installations. But its development has already continued.“ The development of the MSR Halo™ has not been limited to its deployment options. Within the past year, significant software features, improvements and updates have already been introduced to the MSR Halo™. These developments reflect Reutech Mining’ s commitment to continuous improvement and its approach of listening to clients, understanding how the system is used in real operating environments and implementing functionality that responds to their requirements.”
It says a product launch is not the end of the development process. The hardware, software, deployment options and support surrounding the system continue to evolve together as operational needs change.
In 2026, Reutech Mining is also expanding the deployment possibilities for the MSR Halo™ with the introduction of the new Reutech Eco PSU. Designed with a strong focus on greener field operation, the Eco PSU uses solar energy as its primary power source. This reduces reliance on conventional fuel-based power and supports a more efficient, lower-impact approach to powering continuous radar monitoring.
It says the Eco PSU provides an autonomous, practical and easy-to-use platform for the MSR Halo™, offering greater deployment flexibility in mining environments where access to power and operational mobility are important considerations. An integrated backup power capability supports continued operation when required.
