UTILITY & ANCILLARY The Bis Razor underground grader planned for the sector over the coming 12-18 months. We believe the new products and services will add new markets and geographies to our current portfolio – which currently includes 40 operations across Australia and Indonesia.” Hydrogen on demand Canada’s TES is currently involved in a pilot test at a mining operation for a hydrogen on demand unit, for which it is the exclusive distributor for the mining industry. The hydrogen technology supplier dynaCERT Inc last year reported that its HydraGEN technology had been approved for underground mining applications in Canada. To achieve this, TES, with the support of dynaCERT engineers, participated in risk assessment exercises with one of its operating mining customers in northern Ontario in Canada. The Workplace Risk Assessment and Control (WRAC) was undertaken to develop a better understanding of any occupational health and safety hazards that could possibly arise from the installation of a HydraGEN unit. The first installation is on a SPARTA Utility Vehicle (Boom Truck) from TES that is currently being trialled in an underground mine. dynaCERT Inc manufactures and distributes Carbon Emission Reduction Technology for use with internal combustion engines. As part of the growing global hydrogen economy, its patented technology creates hydrogen and oxygen on-demand through a unique electrolysis system and supplies these gases through the air intake to enhance combustion, resulting in lower carbon emissions and greater fuel efficiency. The trial’s comprehensive analysis is tracking the effectiveness of the HydraGEN technology underground by measuring the changes in emissions and fuel economy. TES has also entered into a distribution agreement that will see Minero Diesel become the exclusive distributor of SPARTA utility vehicles in Mexico. The SPARTA product distribution range includes scissor lifts, boom trucks, ANFO loaders, lubrication trucks, as well as multi-application and custom-design support vehicles. TES says it views the Latin America underground mining market as Canada’s TES is currently involved in a pilot test at a mining operation for a HydraGEN hydrogen on demand unit deployed on a SPARTA Boom Truck an important part of the company’s growth plan, and believes SPARTA’s simple and high-quality design is a “perfect fit for a mining market whose underground operations and focus on safety continues to grow steadily.” TES selected Minero Diesel as a distributor due to its reputation in the sales, rental and repair of equipment for underground mining, it said. Founded in 1992, Minero Diesel is known as a dedicated distributor of underground mining equipment, TES said. It is currently a distributor for Komatsu and provides parts and services to the OEM’s customers. Kevin Whynott, President of TES, said: “We are committed to both quality products and customer support. In order to expand our footprint into Latin America, we wanted to partner with a company whose aftermarket, sales support and company trained technical support were aligned with our vision.” Manitou’s High View The new Manitou High View camera allows mining users to optimise handling and loading at height, translating to a 10% increase in productivity without the need of a second person to monitor the trailer filling level. The view is displayed on the in-cab screen giving a fisheye, 180° panoramic view so is useful in mining maintenance and infrastructure applications such as loading and handling. The active vision system comprises a camera fitted to the boom head, which automatically sends images to a screen in the cab as soon as the boom passes a certain angle. Protected by a metal frame, the camera is waterproof against high- pressure cleaning and dustproof. Equipped with MARCH 2020 | International Mining 51
