EXPLORATION AND SAMPLING
3D modelling of IP and resistivity data includes superior defaults and parameter options that support all electrode configurations and a full suite of measurements. A 3D algorithm is used for forward and inverse calculations of time domain and spectral IP and resistivity data.
Multidisciplinary geoscientific data and models can be incorporated into the inversion using VOXI 3D constraint building tools. The models can be integrated seamlessly with geophysical or geological interpretations within Geosoft’ s geoscience platform, Oasis montaj.
acQuire and ALS announce partnership acQuire Technology Solutions Pty Ltd( acQuire), global specialists in Geoscientific Information Management( GIM), and ALS Ltd, one of the world’ s largest and most diversified testing services providers, have announced a partnership to create a better and more consolidated view across the two companies’ technology products.
The first initiative between the two companies allows acQuire customers, using the latest release of the GIM Suite software, to access core images from the ALS CoreViewer™ image library in the GIM Suite dashboard. The integration gives users quick and easy access to comparisons of all project data, such as lithology, assays, geotechnical data and core images.
“ We’ re really excited by the integration with ALS Mineral’ s Webtrieve™ and the additional
value it will give our customers”, said Steve Mundell, Director of Product at acQuire.
“ ALS Ltd’ s Minerals Division is part of acQuire’ s extensive technology partnership program. This program enables us to strategically focus on providing effective connectivity with third party software vendors to benefit our customers. We’ ve already partnered with companies including Esri, Geosoft, ARANZ Geo, Maptek and Geovariances. Through these partnerships, acQuire’ s GIM Suite is able to give miners and explorers the most complete and immediate data possible— allowing them to make faster decisions and undertake the sort of detailed planning the industry requires."
ALS has operations in more than 350 locations across 55 countries and six continents. The company has teams of experts around the world available to provide specialised business solutions that align with client needs. The Minerals Division of ALS has more than 90 service facilities located throughout Australia, Asia, North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.“ ALS recognises that mining company corporate wealth is tied to the estimation of mineral resources and that quality assays is of paramount importance to protecting assets”, ALS Global Geochemistry Executive Vice President, Bruce McDonald said.“ ALS CoreViewer™ has been developed with an API for user login and information access available to
our technology partners, including 3D modelling programs like Leapfrog and Maptek Vulcan. We’ re pleased to add integration with the GIM Suite to that list”.
Coring consumables
Atlas Copco says its“ focus is core retrieval for the mineral exploration industry. Our main development mandate for core bits is longevity and drilling speed, and for core retrieval tooling we aim to provide the driller with a reliable system that is easy to use and built to outlast the mining industry’ s toughest.”
Azure, its latest coring bit matrix, is the result of over 12 months of development and is helping drillers set company records. To quote a Canadian driller who had extensive use of the new bit,“ That Azure cuts fast through granite and cuts through rhyolite like butter.” Azure is very versatile and can be used in a wide range of ground conditions.
In an addition to the Azure offering, there is now a higher crown core drilling bit which has a significantly extended lifespan for use in deeper holes. The JET26 profile has been modified to provide a robust 26 mm design which prevents crown segments from snapping off in the hole.
Atlas Copco also has a new cutting edge line of( ITH) In-the-hole tools. The DiscovOre™ head assembly and overshot incorporates design features that eliminate many of the common
