be raised and tilted on hydraulic rams so that drilling can be carried out on slopes of up to 30 ° while maintaining a vertical mast position.
The standard Terrier Mk2 is mounted on an 800 mm crawler, however a wider 1,000 mm carrier is offered along with a number of other options including hydraulic stabilisers and foot clamps, radio remote control, and a remote mast kit which allows drilling to take place at distance from the base unit, as well as a selection of engine sizes. All these provide additional opportunites to an exploration team requiring a safe, small footprint, light weight, crawler mounted rig capable of sampling difficult, unconsolidated formations.
Core management
Geosoft has established a technology partnership with Corescan to integrate Corescan’ s web based virtual core library, Coreshed, with Geosoft’ s geological software Target and Target for ArcGIS.
“ We are excited to partner with Corescan to streamline the integration and visualisation of core imagery for more accurate and insightful geological modelling” said Tim Dobush, CEO of Geosoft.“ Working together, we can help our customers increase confidence in the data used for decision-making, and ultimately improve the quality of their exploration outcomes.”
“ Our collaboration with Geosoft is fundamental to our vision of bringing your coreshed to your
desktop” says Neil Goodey, Managing Director of Corescan.“ The integration of our two products increases the utility, objectivity and effectiveness of your core, delivering greater returns from your investment in drilling.”
As an outcome of the partnership, new connectivity available in Geosoft’ s 9.1 software update allows geoscientists to spatially link directly from plan maps, section maps and drill hole databases, to core imagery and other data products stored in Coreshed.
Coreshed is a secure portal for company-wide access to electronic core photographs and other images such as hyperspectral imagery, mineral maps and assay logs. The centralised facility allows high speed retrieval and visualisation anywhere in the world at either the drill hole or core box scale.
All Geosoft customers with an existing Coreshed account can use the new core photo viewing option in Target and Target for ArcGIS. Furthermore, Geosoft has added induced polarisation( IP) and resistivity data inversion to its VOXI Earth Modelling 3D inversion software
Geosoft and Corescan are integrating Corescan’ s web based virtual core library, Coreshed, with Geosoft’ s geological software Target and Target for ArcGIS.“ Having instant access to core imagery can assist in building a more accurate geological model by resolving questions about the data, and providing additional insights during the interpretation process,” explains Tim Dobush, CEO of Geosoft.“ This can give geologists more confidence in their data and also in the decisions they are making from that data”
service. The new toolset is available as part of Geosoft’ s 9.1 software update released in December.
Geoscientists are now able to create detailed 3D models of conductivity and chargeability from IP and resistivity survey data with VOXI. The resulting models can assist in interpreting and targeting regions for mineral and environmental applications.
