Victaulic will also display the latest in highdensity polyethylene ( HDPE ) pipe-joining solutions , including couplings , fittings , and spigot outlet adapters that eliminate the need for fusing . Metal overlays
SSAB ’ s new product Duroxite will be introduced at MINExpo . Duroxite is described as a complement to Hardox for many applications , “ but works especially well in sliding wear environments where smaller and hard materials are processed , for example coal with high quartz content . Duroxite also plays an important role in high temperature environments . However it ’ s
important to understand that in most cases , equipment will be relined with parts made from both Hardox and Duroxite ensuring optimum service life .”
Duroxite is being sold through Hardox Wearparts . “ Contributing to its long wear life is its optimal carbide composition which ensures an excellent combination of wear resistance and homogenous bonding between the base metal and overlay .” Duroxite comes with a guaranteed overlay thickness so if a company orders ¼ in on ¼ in overlay , they are guaranteed +/ -10% to get this thickness throughout the overlay layer . This is consistent within the plate and from plate to plate . In addition , the wear properties are guaranteed to be consistent throughout the thickness of the plate down to 75 % of the overlay . The remaining 25 % of overlay is the transition layer necessary to maintain good bonding to the base plate .
Other benefits of Duroxite include excellent formability due to its staggered cracking pattern on the overlay surface . This allows for smooth bending of the wear parts and ensures a smooth flow of the processed materials .
