HOISTING TECHNOLOGY
TECBERG demonstrated its knowledge and experience in deep shaft hoisting worldwide and signed the HUIZE 3 # shaft hoisting system contract in November 2014. Following the design and manufacturing phases the first deliveries were made to mine site in January 2016. Equipment installation started on March 15 and after a period of approximately one and a half months, commissioning was started in May. The mine winder achieved stable running and no-load operation by end June 2016.”
HUIZE # 3 shaft is now equipped with a 5.5 m six rope floor mounted friction winder, with nominal service load of 360 t, running at 14 m / s, driven by a 3.7 MW AC-DC-AC drive system.
“ By strengthening its local supply chain and quality management SIEMAG TECBERG was able to source and manufacture most of the components in China via the Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG subsidiary, consequentially SIEMAG TECBERG was able to deliver the most suitable technical and commercial solution to Chihong Group.”
“ Irrespective of the place of manufacturing, mining customers trust the experience and knowledge SIEMAG TECBERG can provide to deliver outstanding technology in hoisting”, Torsten Scholl – General Manager of Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG said,“ which is also reflected by the two large production hoists at Hongqinghe coal mine in Inner Mongolia, China. These are the world’ s largest Integrated winder systems each with 9 MW and a further two huge conventional service shaft winders. All four are equipped with the latest technology in winder design.”
Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG is able to offer mine winder equipment, automation and underground cooling solutions, in China, for China, but also elsewhere globally, as required. Scheppe argues that Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG is probably the only supplier in China with a complete product range in shaft hoisting.
CITIC pedigree in China and abroad
CITIC Heavy Industry Co Ltd is a leading manufacturer for designing and manufacturing mining hoists in China. For over 50 years since 1958 it has supplied over 6,000 of various hoist types in which its single-rope mine drum hoist accounts for 70-80 % share of the domestic market and its multirope friction hoist 70 %.
The CITIC range in diameter includes 1.3-7 m floor-mounted and tower multi-rope friction hoists; 1.6-6 m single / double-shell single-rope mine drum hoists; 1.6-3.5 m electric antiexplosion hoists( winch); 1.6-4 m hydraulic antiexplosion hoists( winch); and 2.8-5 m sinking hoists. CITIC told IM it has manufactured 130 large hoists since 1994, including friction gear or reel of diameter 4.5m and above.
“ CITIC has accumulated knowledge over many
years experience in designing and manufacturing hoists, keeping abreast of the latest technology developments for the international markets and contributing to several national scientific research and development projects, such as on large hoist localisation research, as well as leading technical advancements of hoist design.”
CITIC has exported single-rope mine drum hoists and multi-rope friction hoists for many years. In the 1970s, there were 31 foreign projects( North Korea, Vietnam, Albania and the DRC) with exported hoist types J-2.0 to JK-3.5 and JKM- 2.25 × 4. In the 1990s, 15 hoists were exported( Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and Venezuela) which were of types JKMD-3.5 × 4, JKMD-3.25 × 4, JKMD-2.8 × 4, JKM-4 × 4, 2JK-3.5, JK-3.0, JK-2.0, and JK-1.6.
In the 2000s, over 100 hoists have been supplied in China and for export, including the largest single rope winding mine hoist inside China, a 2JK-6 × 2.5. Others have included a JKM- 4.5 × 6( III) E( max static tension 1,131kN; max static tension difference 303 kN; max hoisting speed 12 m / s; motor power 4,400kW) for the main shaft of Nonferrous Donggua Mountain in Tongling( copper); a JKMD-5 × 4( III) E( max static tension 900 kN; max static tension difference 210 kN; max. hoisting speed 9.9 m / s; motor power 1,800 kW) for the HUIZE lead-zinc mine in Yunnan; and for the main shaft of Huainan Mining Bureau’ s Guqiao coal mine, a JKMD- 5 × 4( III) E( max static tension 1,200 kN; max static tension difference 440 kN; max hoisting speed 16 m / s; and motor power 5,300 kW). For the main shaft of Zhangji Coal Mine of Huainan Mining Bureau CITIC supplied a JKMD-5.7 × 4( IV) E( max static tension 1,500 kN; max static tension difference 440 kN; max hoisting speed 14 m / s; motor power: 3,000 kW × 2).
The company adds:“ Maintaining the goal of meeting or exceeding international standards, CITIC is continuously improving the mechanical, hydraulic and electric control systems, innovating designs at the same pace as developed countries. Motors are sourced from domestic and international suppliers. Hydraulic braking systems are sourced from ABB in Sweden and SIEMAG / SIBRE from Germany. Hoist system ancillary components are sourced from domestic and international suppliers, such as for steel wire rope, hoist containers, loading and uploading

devices, steel wire rope failure detectors, and steel wire rope changers.”
CITIC’ s AC-AC VVVF Electronic Control System deliveries include a complete JKMD-3.5 × 4( III) 1,900 kW AC-AC frequency conversion electronic control system for the main shaft of ZhengCun coal mine in cooperation with LuoYang Yian Ltd commissioned in 2006. CITIC also supplied a complete 3,400 kW AC-AC frequency-conversion electronic control system for the BABAO main shaft hoist in cooperation with TongHua Mining( Group) Ltd company, commissioned in 2009.
In 2007, CITIC coordinated with Beijing Shougang Xingshan Mining Company on a 4,000 kW medium voltage frequency-conversion electronic control system. The same year it coordinated with Anhui MaGang LuoHe Mining Co Ltd for its main shaft’ s 4,000 kW medium voltage frequency conversion technology.
Then in December 2008, CITIC coordinated with Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group for a JKMD-5.5X4 complete hoist system 2,500kW medium voltage frequency-conversion used for the secondary vertical shaft for the coal mine in Maiduo Mountain.
Finally, CITIC adds:“ With increasing energy demands and coal resources found in deep shafts, advanced technology is becoming more important. To meet these requirements for future mines, CITIC has developed large sinking hoist technology for > 1 km shafts to with large volume containers over 5 m 3.” CITIC has supplied model JK-4 × 3.5 / 15.5 for the sinking hoist project for China Coal No. 3 Construction Corporation which has been successfully operating in the 1.5 km deep shaft.
And in new products, according to specifications of the new national standard GB / T20961-2007( Single Rope Winding Mine Hoist), CITIC has developed compliant models JK- 4.5 × 3, 2JK-5 × 2.3 and 2JK-6 × 2.5 with a
