The new valve block upgrade was developed
because many of the valves that were used on
the Bosch Rexroth station are obsolete and not
available on the market and there is no new
replacement for them. Instead of having to
install a complete hydraulic unit, ABB now offers
mining customers “the chance to upgrade to the
latest technology in an easier and more cost
effective way.”
ABB says that the installations of the new
valve block have proved to be very quick with
minimum downtime and virtually no loss of
production. “The customer benefits are that the
spares are readily available and cheaper and
that if the customer also has a new hoist system
with an ABB TUBE hydraulic unit, the same
valves are used, hence there is no need to stock
different brands.”
SIEMAG TECBERG’s benchmark
reference in China
At the start of 2016, Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG
delivered mine winder equipment to the HUIZE
lead & zinc mine, part of the Chihong Group
based in Yunnan Province, China. It was the first
order for large hoisting equipment into the noncoal industry for SIEMAG TECBERG’s local
subsidiary in China.

Chihong Group is controlled by Chinese state
owned company Yunnan Metallurgical Group
and is the largest lead and zinc ore mining and
smelting company in Yunnan Province. Over the
past 50 years, HUIZE mine has made a
significant contribution and brought strong
economic benefit to the Chihong Group and its
other investors. “HUIZE 3# shaft was therefore a
key project for the deep resource development,
and making the first steps into deep mining was
an important milestone for Chihong.”

their deep resources in the coming years.
SIEMAG TECBERG first became involved in the
project following a technical exchange meeting
in 2012 together with Chihong Group &
Changsha Design Institute. Both parties wanted
to invite the best available hoisting system
suppliers to provide the best technical solution
