July / August / September • Issue 3 • 2018 AMPS Utilization, continued from Page 10 for all barriers except time. Average group scores were calculated for each question, pre and post, and differences between scores determined effect size per question (Table 1). Significant changes occurred in 8 of 11 survey questions. Participants reported significant increases in compatibility with daily practice, usefulness and how worthwhile the AMPS is. The question with the largest positive change was, “When I deliver the AMPS it is easier to deliver occupation-based treatment.” Survey results indicated increased implementation of the AMPS (Table 2). Following the intervention, the participants formed a community of practice and continue to meet monthly to sustain changes. Results indicate use of an intervention founded in the KTA framework is effective to increase utilization of the AMPS in practice and supports use of a community of practice to sustain changes. Findings demonstrate utilization of the AMPS also increased use of occupation-based interventions. This result supports the need for occupational therapists to complete occupation-based performance assessments to align with our profession’s core values. References Chard, G. (2000).
