MEET IJGA SENIORS! ARANTZA ARMAS STENNER At what age did you start playing golf? 7 When did you realize you wanted to play college golf? When I was 12 How old were you when you started the college placement process? 15 What has been the best part of the process? The college visits and meeting golf teams. What was the hardest part of the process? Working on my academics like the SAT, ACT and TOEFL. Do you remember the first interview you had with a coach? If so, please tell us about it (how did you feel, who was it, how was it? Yes, I was very excited and nervous at the same time. The coach was very nice with me and I learned a lot about the golf program. What school will you be attending next year? New Mexico State University. How did IJGA help you during the process? They helped me with my golf game and other important parts of the game. 14 Who would you like to thank for this huge accomplishment? I would like thank my coaches Grant and Susy for always being there for me and helping me. I would also like to thank my parents and my brother for all their support and for believing in me. What is the first thing that comes to you mind knowing you will start college next year? The first thing that comes to my mind is that I will be playing in an amazing team that has a great coach. I will be having fun and learning new things. What will you miss the most about IJGA? My friends, my coaches and the place. What is the thing you are looking forward to the most? I look forward to be a good player in college and help the team out, while having fun. After college I look forward to play Q-school. What advice would you give to other younger junior golfers who want to play college golf as well? I would tell them not to stress about college and just trust the process. Another very important thing is to enjoy the game and always work hard.
