Making the Most of THE
10 Last
Nights
Written By: Kerina Mohammed
Ramadaan will soon
come to an end and
our opportunity to
reap these amazingly
multiplied rewards
will end along with it,
until next Ramadaan.
But we can’t be certain that we will
experience another Ramadaan, how
many of our brothers and sisters who
were with us last Ramadaan aren’t
with us today? Allah has gifted us this
opportunity and we must not let it go
to waste. That being said, here are a
few ways that we can maximize what
is left of our Ramadaan, especially the
last ten days and nights.
Salaah
Five daily salaah
Performing our Salaah (obligatory
five daily prayers) in this month
gives us a chance to earn multiplied
rewards. Imagine what performing
recommended Sunnah Salaah will
earn us, Subhan Allah! How can we
miss out on this opportunity, to earn
these extra blessings regarding our
daily salaah? During this pandemic,
most of us are at home so performing
these extra rakaat of salaah will be
possible and even if we are at work
we can still attempt to pray as much
as we can. This is the opportunity of
a lifetime and we shouldn’t let it pass
us.
Extra prayers
Praying our 20 rakaat of Taraweeh
during this period will bring us closer
The Prophet (SAW) is
reported to have said:
“Let not your tongue cease to be moist
with the remembrance of Allah.”
[Jami` at-Tirmidhi].
to our Lord and help us seek to experience the
Night of Power. It is a blessing that we are able
to perform our Taraweeh salaah at home and
encourage those who would normally be unable
to go to the masaajid to read in congregation.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
I heard Allah’s Messenger (saw) saying regarding
Ramadan, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the
month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and
hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his
previous sins will be forgiven.”
Praying the mid-morning prayer or Salaatul
Duha helps us earn more blessings during these
last few days.
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of
Allah (SWT) said:
“Whoever regularly prays the two rakaahs of
Duha, his sins are forgiven even if they are like
[the vastness of] the foam of the sea.”[8]
