Field Research Makes IHS
More Effective
Training in India this year moved toward increasing
growth and sustainability. As Mentor-Trainer Latha
Mathew worked toward her master’s degree in
organizational leadership and management, she
researched what motivates new trainers and what
challenges they face. The data revealed that new
trainers desire to build their skills
with a coach’s direction to gain
INDIA:
confidence. They also seek support
37 trainers
and encouragement through
equipped
teamwork. Latha began to pair
& 198 new
together new trainers to strengthen
witnesses
their support system. Regional
teams are being formed in this vast discipled
country to increase the rate of
training new witnesses. Strong relationships of
coaches to their trainers and of Latha to her c oaches
are key. She has embraced this leadership challenge
by becoming the full-time International Saline
coordinator for India. We expect the India ministry
efforts to accelerate in 2014.
