A good leader does not need to control every situation or person. They use their positional power as a means to set an example, give their team the space to do the work they've been hired to do, and lead the way by modeling the desired behaviours.
There's a very fine line between enabling and controlling. For anyone in leadership, positional power is a privilege not to be taken lightly.
Leaders who are clear about their role and the role of others achieve more through their strength of character.
