Chapter 3: Betting and connected portable devices
Designed to boost sportsbook performance and optimisation capabilities, the Playtech Sports HTML5
solution allows Ladbrokes customers to access a seamless desktop and mobile-user experience.
Featuring the ‘Playtech ONE’ omni-channel solution, Ladbrokes customers are able to play any content
across any channel, with the solution responsive to any device using one account and one wallet.
The Ladbrokes product is also supported by Playtech’s NGen system, a bespoke solution that can
handle large volumes of data across concurrent sports events and thousands of betting markets.
Playtech, through its Mobenga subsidiary, has been working with the bookmaker since May 2013, with
Ladbrokes having launched on the Playtech Sports mobile platform in January 2015.
Since the launch, the Ladbrokes mobile sportsbook has experienced a 110% year-on-year increase in
the amount staked by customers, while its number of active users is also up 62%.
The HTML5 front-end is the first of a number of new launches. Other new features players can look
forward to include a new layout with easier navigation, as well as new football and horseracing
homepages, a personalised accumulator feature, and quick links that allow immediate access to
sporting highlights, price boosts and offers.
Also in July 2015, Ladbrokes rolled out a range of virtual sports on its mobile service.
