In May the company signed a three-year extension with Schneps Media to continue as the exclusive provider of sports betting and gaming content to amNewYork and its website amNY . com .
GAMBLING . COM GROUP
The company ’ s first media partnership deal came in January 2022 when it signed up with McClatchy , one of the largest news media companies in the US with operations in 29 markets . Gambling . com explained at the time that via this deal , the media firm gained access to its proprietary data science platform , sports betting content team and expertise in how to monetise online sports betting traffic .
Among the newspapers and associated digital platforms in the McClatchy news group are the Miami Herald , the Fort Worth Star- Telegram , the Kansas City Star , the Charlotte Observer , the News and Observer in Raleigh , North
Carolina , the Lexington Herald- Leader and the Sacramento Bee .
In February this year it topped up its partnership portfolio with the deal with media giant Gannett , publisher of USA Today , to provide relevant content for sports enthusiasts and leveraging Gannett ’ s reach across the US media landscape through the USA Today Network of 47 million users . Included within the deal are local media publications including AZCentral . com , the Tennessean . com and Freep . com in states where sports betting has been launched .
The company ’ s media partnership ambitions aren ’ t just about North America . In July , it inked an agreement with Independent Digital News and Media , one of the UK ’ s largest digital media publishers , to deliver in-depth and expert sports betting and online casino content . The Independent reaches over 20.8 million monthly unique users .
On the second quarter call with analysts , CEO Charles Gillespie suggested that having done deals with two of the biggest publishers in the US , “ we ’ re not really looking for a third ”.
CATENA MEDIA
Catena Media ’ s first foray into media partnerships came in August last year when it nabbed a deal with NJ . com owner Advance Local from under the nose of the media company ’ s previous partner Better Collective .
It followed that up in April with a long-term deal to provide online sports betting and casino content to Lee Enterprises , one of the largest newspaper publishers in the US which serves 77 markets in 26 US states . Properties include Buffalonews . com and Tucson . com , part of the Arizona Daily Star . Catena said the deal would also provide a springboard in other states ahead of potential market launches , including STLtoday . com in Missouri , and other brands in Texas , Minnesota , Alabama and North Carolina .
Then in August an agreement was signed with The Sporting News to produce sports and casino gaming content for North and South American markets .
