“ inexplicable ” why AskGamblers was not a brand presence in the US .
Morten Hillestad , director of business development at GiG Media , said that after three years of “ consolidating and expanding ” the GiG Media business “ the time was ripe to act when this acquisition opportunity emerged ”.
Jonas Warrer , managing director of the media unit , added that the business wants to be the “ leading casino affiliate in the industry , and this acquisition cements our position ”.
Analysts at Redeye in Stockholm suggested that while the acquired assets are “ not growing currently ”, they believe there should be “ potential for GiG to improve growth for the assets ”.
“ GiG sees growth synergies coming from complementing market reach as well as shared marketing technologies and business intelligence systems ,” analyst Hjalmar Ahlberg told his clients .
According to the Q3 earnings presentation , as it currently stands GiG ’ s largest market remains Europe at 60 % with the US worth 20 % and the rest of the world contributing the remaining 20 %.
On the accompanying call , chief executive Richard Brown said ahead of the news of the AskGamblers acquisition that GiG has “ seen the opportunity ” to double down on its media investments .
