17 the AskGamblers business had returned to month-on-month growth in a short period of time and contributed 7k of FTDs to the total . Brown reiterated that AskGamblers was a “ fantastic asset ” and that there would be a “ multitude of opportunities to deliver with that ”.
“ The post-merger integration plan is in full swing ,” he added , with the migration of the assets to GiG ’ s own technology platforms progressing .
Within the Media business , the paid media publishing arm was worth € 5.7m or 31 % of the total while revenue share now accounted for 65 % of total divisional revenues . “ This is continuing our trend of focusing on high-value customers and increasing revenue share percentage ,” Brown told the analysts on the earnings call .
He added that a lot of work has gone into the paid publishing element of the business in the last year and a half , both in terms of rankings and product conversion rates .
Meanwhile the company is also seeing some results from its partnership with News Corp . “ That adds to those numbers ,” he said .
“ One of the things I ’ m really pleased with is that News Corp is a perfect demographic that matches the products that we have and the solutions that we offer within the media business ,” Brown noted .
“ So , I think we would like to focus on similar structured deals . We ’ ve seen some very positive results .”
GAME OF RISK
Asked about the risk of the partner either deciding to go it alone with affiliate deals or seek another partner in the space , Brown said that only by providing the best platform could the risk be mitigated . “ It ’ s going to be something that you ’ re going to manage within the business , and that ’ s quite specific to that area ,” he said .
“ We will always focus on the product and the delivery of the partnership because we see the upside for us , and therefore , it has to be mutually beneficial . And we believe that the technology that we ’ re helping to apply to the website portfolios that they own as well as the content is market leading , and therefore that will prevent or mitigate that risk .”
Continuing the theme for discussing Latin America , Brown mentioned the region contributed to the 34 % year-on-year increase in traffic in the Americas region as a whole . “ We continue to push towards geographical diversification ,” he said . “ It ’ s been a key theme of the Media business for the last three years and has been a key driver of the growth .”
As for North America , Brown added that in comparison with others in the sector , the US remained “ relatively small ”. “ We do our investments in that market in a disciplined manner and in a manner that we believe will be accretive long term ,” he said .
