There was an arresting phrase used by the analysts at Truist when assessing the fourth quarter earnings from leading gaming affiliate Gambling. com Group.
With a“ runway for continued growth” and a medium-term aim of hitting $ 100 million in EBITDA, the team led by Barry Jonas said the company was the“ best house in a bad neighbourhood”.
This is quite the sweeping statement about the small niche, as far as US analysts are concerned, of the gaming affiliate sector. But from the point of view of investors, Jonas might well be right because going by the recent share price records of the listed providers, the neighbourhood looks in bad shape.
GDC is certainly the outlier as far as price movement are concerned. The shares were up 7 % in the wake of the results in late March and in the last year, the share price has managed a near 50 % increase.
Indeed, if it weren’ t for the general market jitters that afflicted the US generally from mid- February, it is likely that 52-week tally would have been even better.
