being used in a mainstream way. Since AR doesn't generate an entire world, it consumes less
power and is thus capable of running on your smartphone.Major smartphone makers like Apple
and Google are investing in the AR space for smartphones,dubbing their newer products as AR
ready.
Tango is Google's own AR platform, and it is supposed to enhance our everyday life using
technologies like computervision and motion tracking. Currently, AR can only project monsters
or dinosaurs in your room,but give it sometime and it'll be game changer.
As you can see, AR and VR don't exactly go head-to-head,but rather have different applications.
As for which of the two is going to be more ubiquitous and relevant in the future, AR is the
current winner. Unequivocally, both technologies aren't going away anytime soon and you would
be wise to keep your eyes on them.
