The Journal Fig 2 : Pretreatment Dental Casts Treatment Objectives Treatment Alternatives The treatment objectives for the dentition were correction of the right posterior crossbite, making the maxillary and mandibular midlines coincident, and decrowding both the arches and retraction of maxillary and mandibular anteriors and achieving normal overjet and overbite, and Class I canine-to-molar relationships. Orthodontic treatment and a sliding genioplasty which was relatively less invasive was considered. Expansion of a narrow maxillary arch was planned which could help to correct the transverse discrepancy by releasing the locking in the right posterior teeth. Mandibular right and left molar distalization to correct molar relation and canine relation and to decrowd the anteriors.Other option was a Mandibular angle reduction plasty and augumentation genioplasty to balance the bulky right inferior border of the mandible. This plan would minimize the extent of surgery while maximizing the reduction of asymmetry. The skeletal treatment objective was correcting the facial asymmetry, including the deviation of the chin and achieving soft tissue facial symmetry. 14 Vol. 14 No. 1 Jan-Apr 2018
