A RCT case with apexification/apical barrier(plug) with Biodentine A tooth with open /resorbed apex with pulpal necrosis and periapical pathology imposes a great difficulty to the dentist. Endodontic treatment options for such teeth consist of conventional apexification procedure with and without apical barriers. Biodentineā„¢ is new calcium silicate based cement that exhibits physical and chemical properties similar to those described for certain Portland cement derivatives. This article demonstrates the use of the newer material, Biodentine as an apical matrix barrier in root end apexification procedure. This case reports present apexification and successful healing with the use of Biodentine as an apical barrier matrix. Introduction Root Canal Treatment(RCT) is routinely treatment one having in his clinical setup. Thousands of RCTs carried out everyday worldwide. As always say every new case is different from the previous one but.....some case need clinical skill with the help of scientific approach. Case Report Chief Complaint : A female patient aged 16 years came with pain in lower right side back teeth region since 15 days. Intraoral Examination : -A carious second molar 47seen. -Carious root stumps 46 are there in her oral cavity -No Mobility present. -Tenderness on percussion 47(TOP) +ve -Cold test -ve (Roeko endo frost -50 degree celcius) Radiographic Examination : Pre op radiograph(Figure 1) showed the following findings: -deep carious lesion -distal root resorption/open apex fig 1 Provisional Diagnosis : -Endodontic origin lession -Periodontal status: SAP symptomatic apical periodontitis -Pulp status :Pulp Necrosis Prognosis : Very Good Treatment Plan : An Endodontic treatment "Non Surgcical Root Canal Treatment (NSRCT)" with apexification/apical barrier(plug) with BIODENTINE (SEPTODONT).
