The Journal Treatment Plan Treatment Progress Considering the findings, non extraction fixed mechanotherapy was planned using 0.018” standard edgewise appliance. After leveling and alignment, a fixed functional appliance was given to advance the mandible into class I relationship. Forsus FRD was the best option, considering age, patient comfort, ease of installation, lack of breakages in clinical use, predictable results and no need for patient compliance. Treatment was started using 0.016” NiTi in both arches, which was followed by 0.016” Stainless steel wire with curve of spee, 0.016 X 0.022 SS. Consolidation of anterior spaces were done followed by which 0.017 X 0.025 stainless steel wire was placed. Leveling and alignment was completed in 6 months. At the end of phase 1, there was 7 mm of overjet and 50% of overbite. (Fig.3,4) Fig 3 : Pre-functional extraoral photographs 7 Vol. 13 No. 3 Sep-Dec 2017
