12. After the material was set, the driver is
inserted in copings respectively and the
copings were made loose completely
13. The tray now was removed carefully and the
copings were picked up along with the
impression

the rigid splinting and around the copings
14. Impression was checked and implant
analogue was fixed to the copings and
impression was poured
This now recorded the position, depth,
angulation and the soft tissue emergence of
implants the same way they were present inside
the bone!!
10. Tray was loaded with putty and impression
is made
11. The copings were allowed to come out of the
putty from the window created and openings
were cleared from any putty that clogged the
openings
Discussion
Closed tray impression in implant dentistry has
disadvantages in the form of manual errors that
creep in when the transfer coping is transferred
from oral cavity and placed back in the
impression to pour.
To avoid such discrepencies, open tray pick up
impression is always better that records and
transfers the implant in the same way that is
present inside the bone into an impression to be
poured
