An Overview of the Federation Era 1901 onwards Australian architecture and interior design was not just influence by the British, but due to transportation and now developing trading with the United States of America, a variety of styles were now in easy reach of designers and architects alike. However, the Edwardian and Art Nouveau styles where developing at the same time, and so we see a bit of a cross over in design styles in the first 20 years of the 1900’s in Australia.
