Worried that you might download a virus that's going to break your computer or corrupt your work? Wondering whether the file you're downloading is safe or not? Below are some tips to help you stay safe when downloading files from the internet or opening email attachments.

* Only download files from websites you trust.

* Do not use torrents or file sharing websites to illegally download copyrighted content as viruses or other malware can be hidden in the files.

* If you receive a suspicious email with an attachment from an unknown sender, delete the email.

* Antivirus provides some protection from virus's and malware however you should always exercise caution when downloading files from unknown websites.

* If you suspect that your computer is infected with a virus it is best to see the IT helpdesk instead of trying to fix it yourself.

How much are you printing?

For all students, as a reminder to support the Loreto sustainability goals there is a budgeted system for printing. This means you have a set limit of printing and you will need to manage your printing at school in a careful manner, making good decisions about what you print. If you do go over this limit you will need to go to ICT Helpdesk to get a Print / Copy top up form for your parents to sign..

• Some green printing tips:

* Print two pages to a sheet, print double-sided or do both!

* If you are unsure on how to do this please see ICT

Think before you print:

* Badly formatted documents can mean you end up printing more pages than you intended.

* Use Print Preview to check how many pages your document will print on.

* Adjust the page margins, to ensure your document fits onto fewer pages.

* Make electronic copies available for people to refer back to i.e. Email
