Ahmed Al-Jolo
Eng.Ahmad Jassim Al-Jolo (BSc in Civil Engineering – Seattle University, USA 1984) is the Chairman of Qatar Society of Engineers with more than 28 years of experience in engineering fields winning many awards such as: Engineer of the Year, and holding many international memberships such as: QGBC, ASCE, ASEI.
Eng. Ahmad Al-Jolo is involved in many engineering conferences, summits, exhibitions, and workshops locally and globally with wide range of knowledge and career development which results being the former Chairman of Professional Engineers Committee at UPDA (the committee which classifies and licenses engineers and consultants).
He is also a judge in many international awards such as: MEED Quality Awards. He is one of the founding members of Qatar Green Building Council which is considered the first step towards green concept and sustainability at Qatar.
Eng. Ahmad Al-Jolo is an advisory board member for the ABET accreditation for civil engineering department at Qatar university and advisory board member at Texas A&M University.
As Eng. Ahmad Al-Jolo saw the progress of Qatar skyline and witnessing the massive development that is coming to develop the country in terms of infrastructures as well as superstructures, he is sure that the number of iconic structures at Qatar will increase dramatically in all areas such as: sports venues – World Cup venues, transportation – Rail projects, and entertainment – malls and parks.
Moreover, he stated that considering a structure as iconic should be made based on many factors and all those factors are intersecting with each other such as: concept, history, investment amount, sustainability, engineering challenge, and more…
