It ’ s a situation that hasn ’ t gone unnoticed by Ginny Owens . “ The current state we ’ re in is so loud . On Facebook and all social media , people are always shouting and declaring their truth and opinion . It ’ s hard to hear God ’ s voice in the midst of that ,” she says . “ Sometimes it ’ s not social media . It can be the voices in our own heads . But my hope for all of us is that we would learn to allow God ’ s voice to be the dominant voice . That we would know Him through His word and spending time with Him .” That very sentiment inspired her 11th and latest studio project , aptly titled Let Love Be the Loudest . “ I was writing for about a year and a half , wondering , thinking and praying about the kind of project I should make next . The fact that the project came together was pretty amazing ,” she says .
“ There were six different producers this time ,” she explains . “ Every time I wrote , there was someone different in the room . We were singing vocals here and recording parts there . It is absolutely the most pop record I ’ ve ever made .” The style of the album has creative written all over it , showcasing an artist who ’ s not afraid to explore new territory sonically or thematically . What makes the album even more extraordinary to hear is the recollection that Ginny has been blind from childhood . As far as Ginny is concerned , however , her identity has nothing to do with ability or disability ; her identity is derived from the love of God breaking through the cacophony . It ’ s hard-won wisdom that has ultimately been life-changing . “ For much of my life , I ’ ve felt if I am not defined by my career , I ’ m extremely useless ,” she says .
