funnel was shaken, then the
funnel of the mouth was secured
with a nut wrench to separate
the phases.
Once the phases were separated,
the aqueous phase was collected
in a 100 ml beaker, this
extraction process was repeated
twice. To the aqueous phase
obtained from the extraction
process was added a solution
(see the molarity in the 2M guide
calculations) of HCl, little by little
and with constant agitation, until
a pH of three was achieved.
Finally, the mixture was taken to
an ice bath to aid crystal
formation.
