Once she finished giving one to each player, she said, ‘Let God be your rock and always do the next right thing. Take one step at a time and everything will work out.’ That really spoke to me individually and to us as a team.”

Mallard imagines that people would describe her as “highly motivated, energe-tic, strong, resilient, faithful, and committed to God, work, and family.”

“Unfortunately,” she remarks, “they would probably put it in the order of work, family, and then God.... But that’s okay.”

Even though she has hit the ground running with administrative responsibilities, in her spare time, Reinhardt's new President likes to sleep and go to musical, theater, and athletic events throughout campus. “Even though it’s part of the job description, I really enjoy it,” she says. “It’s what makes the job fun.”

Mallard wants people to know that, as President, there are no small decisions to be made. Every decision that rises to the President’s level and across her desk has a huge impact. She wants every decision made to focus on helping students succeed.
