The Gordy Dining Center may have been a beautiful building when it was structured in 1984, but now after 32 years, it is obviously in need of a makeover to keep up with the tastes of a new generation of Reinhardt students. The exterior design of the building could be updated to look more like a café than an administrative building, and the interior dining area could stand to be remodeled, with booths and restaurant-like tables replacing the long, high-school-style tables. Some students have suggested that vibrant colors of paint on the walls and even flat-screen televisions would enhance the atmosphere.

The food at the Gordy is provided by a food service contracted by the University; the current provider is Sodexo USA. The Reinhardt University website states, “Finding your favorite foods on campus is easy. We are proud to offer a dining program complete with signature brands and menu selections that include just about every item you can imagine. Just feast your eyes on what we have available. Featuring a wide variety of fresh food designed to satisfy everyone’s appetite with food choices to rival your favorite restaurants:

• Fresh fruit and salads

• Delicious, hot, home-style entrees

• Freshly baked pizza and pasta

• Deli choices served on fresh baked breads

• Homemade soups

• New creations by our chef just for you

• Ice cream and freshly baked desserts

• And you can enjoy ‘all you care to eat’!”

The Gordy Center Main Dining Room is open every day and the residence halls are open during the academic year (mid-August to late April). During Fall, Christmas, Spring and Summer breaks, meal hours vary.
