"La Grande Bellezza", the film by Paolo Sorrentino, led
Italy to the Golden Globes after 24 years and now it
has been nominated for an Oscar. This masterpiece
that highlights the "Made in Italy" was filmed entirely
in Rome and enjoys a truly exceptional cast, Tony
Servillo, Carlo Verdone, Sabrina Ferilli, Carlo
Buccirosso etc ...The protagonist of the film is Jep
Gambardella, a critical and theatrical journalist, who
arrived in Rome from Naples when he was 26 years
old,after the success of his first and only novel. He fell
into the high society life lost among the wonders of
the past and the squalor of the present, that over the
time becomes his only true purpose. He says he
wanted to become the king of the Roman high
society. Jep participates every evening to a circle of
close friends and comrades in fortune/misfortune:
Romano, Lello, Viola, Stefania and Dadina (his head)
and one evening like many others, while returning
from one of their parties, he meets Elisa’s husband in
front of house: Elisa was his first and only love of the
first part of his life when he lived in his small town.
