THE SCHOOL
THE MUSIC COURSES
On 22 April 1963, at the headquarters of Savona Italy 3 course, it
was decided to start the school "Bartholomew Guidobono."The
Ministry of Education approved 'the proposal and on
16/09/1963,the school was established.Bartholomew Guidobono,
called "the priest of Savona" was born in Savona 1654 and died in
Turin in 1709. Son of a decorator of ceramics, initially devoted
himself to letters, then followed the ecclesiastical career. Attracted
by painting dedicated himself with commitment. He traveled to
Parma and Venice, where he studied the works of Correggio and the
Venetians, and also by Caravaggio. Back in Savona devoted himself
to the decoration of tiles, then turned to painting canvases and
frescoes. He worked for Gavotti, and Genoa received commissions
from Durazzo Brignole, Centurion and various religious
brotherhoods. Around 1680 he was called to Turin at the court of
the Duke of Savoy, where he worked until his death. His best known
works are preserved in Genoa Palazzo Rosso and Palazzo Reale
(Allegory of summer and autumn); At Savona and Turin Palace and
Gavotti Convent of St. Francis of Paola.The middle school Guidobono
was housed in the current building in Via Machiavelli in 1971.
1989/90,the school began musical experimentation. From
1995/96,the school participated in the national project of
experimentation Multilab.
