You will need:
1 ¼ cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking SODA
½ tsp salt
I cup warm water (can use
coffee or coconut water)
1 tsp Vanilla essence
1 tsp of vinegar (white or
apple cider)
Method:
1. Pre-heat oven to 177
Celsius.
2. In an 30x20cm pan mix all
the dry ingredients together
with a fork.
3. Add all wet ingredients and
mix thoroughly.
4. Bake for 30mins or till
skewer inserted in the
middle of the cake comes
out clean.
5. Dust with icing sugar to
serve.
This is an ACCIDENTALLY vegan recipe that hails from the Great depression
when Milk, eggs and butter were hard to come by so people had to get
creative. Its often also referred to as “Crazy Cake”.
